LONESOME BEACH (철 지난 바닷가)

 

 

 

The port located to the right east from Seoul, we call it 'Jungdongjin(正東津)'.
Around 30 years ago, I just dropped by the railway station.
It was summer. Nevertheless I could seldom see the people there. But it was changed a lot after it was shown in 'Sandglass', a soap opera.
Today it must be crowded with many people who wish to watch the first sunrise of the year 2011.

 

Long time ago, I went to a sea shore in winter.
That's because I may have had enjoy such a romantic atmosphere of the song, 'Lonesome Beach' sung by Song, Changsik.
However, there was nothing but chilly winds like a knife cut...
I instantly turned out to be frozen and caught a serious cold so I've never tried such a stupid event since then.

 

We have 'Jungdongjin(正東津)' so we might have 'Jungseojin(正西津)', a port to the right west from Seoul.
However, we don't know where it is so now I am thinking if I may go to a sea shore in the west.
And I now imagine that I am waving my hands in full smile to the last sunset of the year 2010...
However, it's seriously cold today.
Listening to the song of Song, Changsik, 'Lonesome Beach', I am thinking of what I should choose.

서울의 바로 동쪽에 있는 나루터, 그곳을 '정동진(正東津)'이라 하죠.
약 30 여년 전, 그 역에 잠깐 들러 간 적이 있었죠.
그 때 여름이었지만, 사람도 거의 없는 한적한 곳으로 기억하는데, '모래시계' 출현 이후, '정동진'은 많이 변모하였다고 하더군요.
오늘 2011년 첫 해오름을 보려고 많은 사람이 '정동진'에 모여들 것이라고 생각합니다.

 

아주 오래 전에 겨울 바다에 가 본 적이 있습니다.
송창식의 '철지난 바닷가'의 낭만스런 분위기를 한 번 연출할까 생각하고 말입니다.
그런데, 아무 것도 없는 바다에 칼바람은 어찌 그리 매서운지...
바짝 동태가 된 것은 물론 독감까지 걸려서 이후로는 '철지난 바닷가'를 간다는 등의 쓰잘따리 없는 짓은 하지 않았습니다.

 

'정동진(正東津)'이 있으니, '정서진(正西津)'도 있을 법하지요.
그러나, 어디인지 잘 모르니까 서쪽 어느 곳 바닷가에 가볼까 생각 중입니다.
2011년 마지막 석양에게 웃으면서 손을 흔들어 주는 것은 어떨까 싶어서 말입니다.
그런데, 오늘 정말 춥습니다.
다시 송창식의 '철지난 바닷가'를 들으며, 어떻게 할까 생각 중입니다.
